How can I list my place on Homes & Cribs?
Once you sign up and become a host, go to the Add Listing section on the Host Dashboard menu and follow the simple steps of registering your listing. Ensure you also complete your User Profile information and the Verification section. All listings have to be approved by Homes & Cribs to go live and start receiving bookings.
How does the payments work?
Guest reservation and host payout payments are currently made via Mpesa only. A reservation is confirmed once a guest makes their payment and a payout is made to the host 24hrs after the guest checks in. To receive the payout, the host is required to set-up a payment method and request for the payout immediately a guest checks in so that it is processed in good time. Check out our Payments terms of service for more information.
How can I upgrade my place to a Featured listing?
Our “Featured” option for listings is a promotional tool that enable hosts who would like more visibility of their listings to have increased viewership. Once selected, your listing will be automatically prioritized when appearing on different pages and during listing searches under our featured banner that runs for 7days. To enable this feature, click on the “Upgrade to Featured” button under the listings details section.
How can I refund a guest when a reservation is cancelled?
Once a booking reservation is cancelled by a guest as per the particular listings Cancellation Policy or in agreement with the Host, Homes & Cribs will contact the host to facilitate processing of the refund in line with our Guest Refund Policy.
How can I become a host?
It’s easy. Just click on the Become a Host button appearing on the top menu bar and follow the easy registration and listing steps. Remember to complete your Profile and Verification details.
How do I get in touch with my guests?
Homes & Cribs has an internal messaging tool that allows hosts and guest to communicate before and after a reservation is made. To protect both the guests and hosts interests, we do not allow contact sharing prior to making a reservation through the platform or out of platform transactions. Both guests and hosts are required to report any attempts to communicate and transact out of the platform.
How and when do I get paid?
Currently, all payouts are made through Mpesa once you set-up your payment details. The payouts are also made to the host 24hrs after the guest checks in and the host is required to request for the payout immediately a guest checks in so that it is processed in good time. Check out our Payments terms of service for more information.
How can I cancel a reservation?
Host can cancel reservations through the Reservations section appearing on the Hosts Dashboard by opening the details of a particular reservation and selecting the cancel option. We however discourage cancellations due to the inconvenience to guests and any cancellations should be guided by our Cancellation Policy and Extenuating Circumstances Policy as penalties may be applied as per our Host Cancellation Policy.
